It all started with expensive electricity...

Cheaper electricity contracts through Finland

The energy crisis hit Finns with shockingly high electricity prices. It made us (and many others) ask: why is electricity so expensive? We figured there had to be a cheaper way – and we made it our mission to bring affordable electricity to everyone in Finland. Today, we offer low-cost electricity contracts across the country.
Cheap Energy is a Finnish electricity company and part of the Nordic energy group Elify Energy Group. We challenge the traditional energy companies and their pricing models by being openly affordable. Just like our name says, our goal is to:

offer consumers cheap electricity
never compromise on quality
act in the customer’s best interest
make electricity fun and easy to understand.

With a lean business structure, we deliver electricity to everyday Finnish consumers at the lowest possible price, without sacrificing quality.

At the same time, we break down the complexity of the electricity market for everyone. Our mascot, Lassi the Lamb, reveals the secrets of the energy industry through an engaging comic book.

Environment and climate

Every electricity contract includes the option to add certified guarantees of origin: 100% renewable wind power or fossil-free electricity. When you choose the eco-friendly add-on, you ensure that the amount of electricity you use is sourced from that specific certified type, wind or fossil-free power. We also factor environmental and climate considerations into our business decisions.

Society

We take our social responsibilities seriously, both as an employer and in how we serve our customers. We treat each other and our customers with respect and equality, and we value diversity. We also want to give back to society through planned sponsorships. Cheap Energy supports sports and well-being by backing local sports initiatives. As we grow, we aim to expand our sponsorship efforts to support local youth activities and sports more broadly.

Our goal is to offer customers low prices, but even more important to us is financial responsibility and long-term thinking. We want to be a trusted, high-quality, long-term electricity provider.

Our goal to offer cheap electricity to consumers across Finland isn’t just talk; we put words into action. May we introduce: Price Guarantee for 24-month and 36-month fixed-price electricity contracts.

Did you sign an electricity contract with Cheap Energy, but found a similar contract somewhere else for cheaper? If it’s been 14 days or less since you made your contract, send a message to our customer service with the price details of the cheaper contract. If the terms of the price guarantee are met, we’ll match the price – and beat it with an additional discount of -0.1 c/kWh! Amazing, right?
