Price guarantee

To confirm that the price guarantee conditions are met, the cheaper electricity contract must be publicly available on a website from a Finnish electricity provider.

1. Price guarantee for fully equivalent electricity contracts

The price guarantee applies to electricity contracts that are fully equivalent. By a "similar electricity contract," we mean:

• The same fixed-term contract length, e.g. 24 months
• The same pricing mechanism (c/kWh), e.g. a fully fixed price with no consumption-based pricing
• The same electricity origin, e.g. mixed electricity

2. 14-day time window

The contract holder must make a price guarantee request within 14 days of ordering the electricity contract. The price guarantee can be used once (1) within the 14-day period.

3. Current price

The price you are comparing to Cheap Energy’s contract must be valid at the time you make the price guarantee request. The electricity contract you refer to must be available publicly on a Finnish electricity provider’s website.

4. Proof of the competitor’s lower price

To prove the competitor’s lower price, you’ll need a link to the public website and a screenshot from the page. The proof must show the electricity company’s name, the current contract price, the pricing structure, and when the price was valid. Competitors are considered all Finnish electricity providers. The price guarantee is verified by our customer service. If the price guarantee conditions are not met or the lower price cannot be verified, the price guarantee will not be granted.

5. Customer details and contract information

The price guarantee applies to consumer customers whose annual consumption is below 30,000 kWh. Your contact with customer service must include at least the contract holder's name and the electricity supply address. You can also provide other information about your contract (e.g., the order date) to speed up the process.

Exceptions

The price guarantee does not apply to:

• Electricity contracts that are not publicly available from competitors (e.g. win-back offers)
• Electricity providers outside Finland
• Monthly or fixed fees for electricity contracts
• Additional products or electricity origins sold as a service
• Market-priced electricity contracts (e.g. spot electricity or market price electricity)
• Fixed-term, fixed-price electricity contracts shorter than 12 months or longer than 36 months
• Consumer customers with annual electricity consumption exceeding 30,000 kWh
• Business customers and business electricity contracts
• Competitors' deliberate market disturbances or prices resulting from technical errors
• Special campaigns like Black Friday or Single’s Day

The price guarantee is valid from 16.9.2024 until further notice.
