Terms of Sale for Consumer Customers

12/2025

The agreement covers the sale of electrical energy. Electricity distribution is provided by the local distribution system operator under a separate agreement.

The electricity sales agreement is subject to Cheap Energy Finland Oy’s terms of sale, the electricity sales terms recommended by Finnish Energy Industries (SME2014 for electricity contracts concluded up to 20 November 2024; SME2024 for electricity contracts concluded on or after 21 November 2024), and the applicable Electricity Market Act.

The personal data provided when the agreement is concluded will be processed confidentially and in accordance with the requirements of data protection legislation. Cheap Energy Finland Oy uses the personal data provided when the agreement is concluded for the management and maintenance of the customer relationship, the provision and billing of electricity supply and other services, customer service and technical support, and compliance with statutory obligations.

Supply terms

Cheap Energy Finland Oy’s electricity supply will commence in accordance with the customer’s current contractual terms, usually 2–3 weeks after the agreement has been concluded.

Within the scope of the agreement, Cheap Energy Finland Oy may assess the customer’s creditworthiness and may refuse or terminate the customer relationship where there are justified grounds for doing so. If the agreement is refused, all obligations of Cheap Energy Finland Oy arising from the concluded agreement shall lapse.

Distance selling is subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act. Any remarks concerning the content of the contract confirmation must be made within three weeks of the date on which it was sent. The right of cancellation is 14 days in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act. The cancellation form is available on Cheap Energy Finland Oy’s website at cheapenergy.fi. The agreement may also be cancelled by email or by telephone. The customer authorises Cheap Energy Finland Oy to commence electricity supply before the end of the cancellation period. If the customer exercises their right of cancellation, they shall be liable to pay for the electricity supplied up to the time when supply ends.

Term and termination of the agreement

The notice period for an agreement valid until further notice is two (2) weeks. A fixed-term agreement remains in force for the agreed contract period and will continue thereafter as an agreement valid until further notice. If a fixed-term agreement is terminated while the fixed term is still in force, the customer will be charged a contractual penalty in accordance with the public service price list.

Pricing and payment terms

The electricity price, standing charge, and any other price components are specified in the agreement. Any other charges are determined in accordance with the public service price list.

Electricity is billed on the basis of consumption data received from the distribution system operator. If metered consumption data is not available, the consumption data will be estimated. Any estimated billing will be adjusted to reflect actual consumption in accordance with meter readings.

Any changes in taxes, public charges, and other comparable charges will be reflected in the prices of the services included in the agreement with effect from the date on which such changes enter into force. Cheap Energy Finland Oy will inform the customer of the effect of such changes on pricing as soon as possible after becoming aware of the change. This also applies to electricity products for which the electricity price has been agreed in advance.

Amendments to the terms

Cheap Energy Finland Oy may amend the contractual terms, pricing principles, and prices of an agreement valid until further notice by giving the customer at least one month’s (30 days’) prior notice before the amendment takes effect. Cheap Energy Finland Oy will notify the customer of such changes by sending a notice to the email or postal address provided by the customer.

Cheap Energy Finland Oy may assign the agreement and its obligations thereunder to a third party without the customer’s authorisation.

Other terms

Notifications concerning interruptions in electricity distribution, meter readings, or other matters relating to network services must be made to the local distribution system operator. Enquiries concerning billing must be addressed to Cheap Energy Finland Oy’s billing partner, Ropo. Any disputes should primarily be addressed to [email protected] and, if no resolution is reached, the consumer may refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board for resolution at www.kuluttajariita.fi/en/
